The Halton Police says that the string of theft from vehicle cases on Lesage Crescent were attempted thefts. Constable and HRPS Media Relations Officer Ryan Anderson says that “suspects attended a home and tried the door handles of three different vehicles parked in the driveway. This was caught on camera by the homeowner and reported to police.”
He calls it a good example of how residents can help prevent themselves from becoming the victim of a crime.
The HRPS is encouraging residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
