The Town of Milton has announced funding to build more parks in the community.
Over $4.2 million is being invested to develop more outdoor spaces.
In a statement, Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz says parks are important for residents and the community.
“Parks are vital spaces for community members get active, socialize and connect with nature. We know parks are beloved places in each neighbourhood. That’s why we’re investing in building, upgrading and enhancing these outdoor community spaces, to enjoy for years to come, with you and your family in mind.”
One new park development, Cobban Neighbourhood Park, and one park redevelopment, Moorelands Park, are currently going through the design process. Public engagement for these two parks will launch this month.
Six other parks are going through the construction process:
- Benjamin Chee Chee Park
- Coulson Park
- Coxe Boulevard Park
- Kingsleigh Park
- Omagh Park
- Sam Sherratt Trail (Drury Park)
In the release, the Town of Milton asks residents to be patient when coming across local construction sites as they work on building essential municipal infrastructure, including parks.
