We saw a dip in new cases for Halton and Ontario for Tuesday, May 4th.
Across Halton, there are 119 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 15,582. With 14,512 resolved cases and 213 deaths, Halton is now at 857 active cases – 16 less than Monday’s count. The Region says that of the 15,582 total cases, 15,066 were confirmed positive while 516 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 39 new cases. That brings us to 5087 total cases. With 4749 resolved cases and 41 deaths, Milton is at 297 active cases – four less than Monday’s number. The Region says that of the 5087 total cases, 4900 were confirmed positive while 187 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 4037 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 1456 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. A total of 211,065 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 184,605 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 5758 doses have been administered to people aged 16-24;
- 6190 doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 6795 doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 8227 doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 14,102 doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 15,425 doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 15,867 doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 21,677 doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 25,359 doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 23,572 doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 22,037 doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 17,228 doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 28,812 doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 16 doses have been administered to people that are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 30,760 doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 19,521 doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 160,784 doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
