The Halton Region’s latest COVID-19 statistics show yet another sharp jump in new cases.
Across Halton, there are 69 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 10,628. With 10,094 resolved cases and 200 deaths, Halton is now at 334 active cases – 6 more than Thursday’s count. The Region says that of the 10,628 total cases, 10,282 were confirmed positive while 346 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 28 new cases. That brings us to 3366 total cases. With 3215 resolved cases and 36 deaths, Milton is now at 115 active cases – five more than Thursday’s number. The Region says that of the 3366 total cases, 3246 were confirmed positive while 120 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is also detailing the number of COVID-19 variant cases. It says that 470 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 153 total variant cases.
The Halton Region is also noting vaccination numbers. The numbers are updated weekly, with the most recent being on Friday, March 26th. A total of 67,563 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton:
- 38,506 have been administered through the Halton Healthcare COVID-19 Vaccination Centre;
- 14,107 have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 14,950 have been administered through the newly launched COVID-19 vaccination clinics.
