UPDATE:
Shortly before 6:00 p.m., the male was taken into custody.
The Halton Police says the male was barricaded in a home on Early Street in Georgetown with a knife in hand.
The HRPS issued a thank you to residents in the area for their patience while they worked to resolve this incident.
The HRPS says the situation at-hand is a barricaded male. He is inside a home on Early Street in Georgetown.
The Crisis Negotiation Team is on scene working with the male to help resolve the situation.
The Halton Regional Police Service is asking residents of Early Street in Georgetown to find shelter.
Officers are in the area working to resolve a situation that has reportedly been contained to one home. The HRPS adds that officers are likely to go door-to-door to check in on homes in the immediate area.
