FedDev Ontario is investing $50 million that will help Main Street businesses and small and medium-sized enterprises recover from the financial effects of COVID-19.
The money is being invested with the help of five partners.
Executive Director of the Haltech Regional Innovation Centre, Shann McGrail, says this will offer Main Street businesses across Ontario, including Milton, the opportunity to get online to enhance their digital presence.

Audio PlayerLocal businesses in the Downtown Milton area can also utilize the ‘Shop Here’ program. They will get access to creating an e-commerce environment through companies like Google, Mastercard, and even Canadian tech giant Shopify. The program will give small businesses the chance to finally enter the online shopping market.
Business owners can also learn about ‘future proofing’, where they can dive into digital strategy and digital marketing, with advice on the more intricate parts of running a business in the virtual marketplace.
McGrail says the Digital Main Street program has been up-and-running for a little bit now, and has helped many local businesses in being able to side-step some of the issues created by the COVID-19 outbreak.
