Halton Police launch ‘Project Noisemaker’

The Halton Police have launched ‘Project Noisemaker’.

It will tackle loud and aggressive drivers that may be using illegal modifications on their vehicles.

Constable Marc Taraso says it was launched after complaints from the community.

The project was started on Wednesday, June 10th.

Constable Taraso says he’s already seen more vehicles without mufflers than he was expecting.

His advice to young drivers is don’t waste your money on illegal modifications.

Project Noisemaker is running until October 31st. Taraso says it’s running that long because loud and aggressive drivers are typically found in the warmer months.

He stresses it won’t just cover noise as well, as they’ll be focusing on aggressive/stunt driving. There’s be an uptick in stunt driving in the Halton region, particularly in the north end (Milton, Halton Hills).
