Mark Williams has been Chief Librarian for the Milton Public Library for roughly two years. In that time, he has seen successes such as the highest cardholder rate for an urban library in Canada, as well as having the MPL be featured in several major publications in North America.
The library has been a Milton staple since 1855. Their mandate to focus on adapting to newer technologies, while also applying the traditional methods of a library, has kept them active and relevant in the community. Their initiatives to incorporate VR, laptop lending kiosks, and a brand new app has kept patrons wanting more; however, it is their efforts in public inclusion that has allowed them to be a main stay for Miltonians.
With a focus on cognitive care kits, Project Autism, and a wide-range of local events, the MPL has become a leader in community involvement.
