The Town of Milton will not be using a ranked ballot system for elections anytime soon.
Council voted to accept a recommendation by staff that they do not implement the new system.
The reasons that were cited in the report include voter familiarity, estimated cost increase, and the need for further experience in Ontario.
Town Councillor for Ward 2, John Challinor II, says the report wasn’t a good use of time.
Citing other municipalities, Councillor Challinor says that it should be up to the Province.
