The Halton Police have released more details about the death of a four year old girl and her father at Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area on Sunday.
The father and daughter had arrived at the park between 2:30 and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
A concerned citizen contacted the police when they had not returned at 5:30 p.m..
Halton Police Constable Ryan Anderson says their homicide unit is investigating the deaths and are looking for the public’s help.
Anderson says that the case is not being investigated as a homicide at this point.
He explains that their policy is to have the homicide unit investigate whenever a child under the age of five passes away.
Halton Police deployed their Search Incident Response Team, the Canine Unit, the Tactical Rescue Unit, and uniformed patrol to search for the father and daughter.
Halton Police ask that if you saw the father and his daughter in the conservation area between 2:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. that you contact the homicide unit by calling them at 905-825-4776.
