Minister of Canadian Heritage, Steven Guilbeault, was in Milton yesterday.
He was trying out the Milton Velodrome’s Mattamy National Cycling Centre.
After a few laps with Olympian Curt Hartnett, Guilbeault shared his thoughts on the facility.
Hartnett is a member of the Board of Directors for Cycling Canada.
He’s also a three-time Olympic medalist in cycling.
Hartnett says it’s great to have Members of the Cabinet come and see what they’ve invested in.
He’s happy that a decision was made to focus on cycling here in Milton.
Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz was happy to have Guilbeault at the facility.
He says with the Velodrome being the only one of it’s kind in the country, it’s helped put a spotlight on Milton.
The Track Cycling World Cup starts on Friday, January 24th at the Milton Velodrome.
