Ahead of the Federal Election, we reached out to speak with each candidate for the Milton riding.
We wanted to cover topics that Miltonians care about.
Each day this week, we will cover one candidate in the order the interviews occurred.
Today’s candidate is Lisa Raitt.
She shares her opinion on the carbon tax.
Raitt adds that the Conservatives plan to focus on technological advances.
She says the they would focus on giving homeowners a grant to retrofit their homes with green technology.
They’d also like to invest in the green fund and green corporations inventing better technology.
We asked her about housing affordability in Milton.
Raitt says when she met with the Oakville Milton Real Estate Board that the stress test came up.
We asked her about improving the GO service and local transit.
She says while a two-way, all-day GO train to Toronto would be ideal, she’d like to see an improvement amongst municipalities.
