Last night, the Milton Menace announced their decision to relieve Head Coach Justin Peca of his duties.
The Menace have started their inaugural season 2-7-1.
President Jason Tryfon said in a statement, “After carefully assessing our coaching staff the past 6 months since our franchise was formed, a decision has been made that our team needed a change in coaching direction to match the ‘Menace way’ we set forth as a club with our core values.”
He would add, “Justin is a terrific individual and coach for that matter, but at this juncture, we haven’t met these expectations as a Club and we all share responsibility for that fact. To this end, I decided today, we unfortunately needed to make a coaching change and we wish Justin all the best in his future endeavours.”
General Manager Dan Del Monte will take up the Head Coaching duties. Previous to his coaching career, Del Monte spent 15 years playing professional hockey in Europe, where he recorded over 1000 career points, winning 5 Championships during that time.
The Menace are getting set for their next game tonight. They will be taking on the Brantford 99ers. The franchise is the successor to the old Milton Icehawks team.
Puck drop tonight is at 7:30p.m..
