Lisa Raitt is one of the most recognizable names in Canadian Politics, but her political career began in Milton.
She has held numerous titles within the Conservative Party of Canada since being elected in 2008.
The list of titles that she’s held is incredible, Minister of Natural Resources, Minister of Labour, Minister of Transport, Official Opposition Critic for Finance, Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party.
Before that, she earned a master’s degree in chemistry, specializing in environmental biochemical toxicology, at the University of Guelph and was called to the bar in 1998 after attending law school at Osgoode Hall.
After law school, she was named Corporate Secretary and General Counsel and harbourmaster for the Toronto Port Authority becoming first female harbourmaster of a Canadian Port.
